About this Course
This course focuses on the management skills and processes game development studios use to turn design knowledge into successful, shipped products. You’ll examine the structures, roles and challenges of development teams. You'll learn different development methodologies and, as a team, collaboratively build and present a playable digital game. Throughout, you’ll take on roles mirroring those of professional development teams and will be responsible for systems design, prototyping, storyboarding, visual design, plot and character development.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
- How to pitch, plan, build, playtest and present a digital game in a studio environment
- Project management as applied to game design teams
- Designing within business constraints, including how to prioritize features to get to an MVP (minimum viable product)
- Techniques for designing a viable user interface
